A TikTok post has left many moved to tears after a man shared a heartfelt appreciation post for his father, highlighting the sacrifices he made as a parent.
In the post shared by Amirul (@amiruladam970), he talked about the sacrifices his father made to put food on the table and raise his children. His father took on various jobs over the years, including working as a security guard, factory supervisor, chef, delivery rider, logistics assistant, and even running a gold shop.

A father’s sacrifices for his family
Amirul also recalled how his father, whom he affectionately calls “abah”, once worked as a security guard after leaving his factory job. His father would humbly say that he didn’t mind the job, as long as his children had enough to eat.
“Abah worked as a factory supervisor for many years before. He later became a chef and even had the chance to run a chicken rice stall at a night market. He also worked as a delivery rider to support his wife and children, and he never once complained,” Amirul wrote.

He also shared how his father once delivered parcels using his Myvi, and even took on coconut harvesting jobs at plantations, using the same car to transport coconuts and other farm produce from place to place.
“Abah also used to run a gold shop. Back then, things were going well financially, until he was hit by a fake gold scam involving one of his own customers,” Amirul added.

Amirul’s father was later struck by devastating news
After years of working different jobs, Amirul’s father later began experiencing frequent shortness of breath as well as swelling in his hands and feet. He was eventually given devastating news by doctors after falling ill, being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that also prevented him from undergoing chemotherapy.

“The doctor confirmed that my dad’s kidneys are no longer functioning due to stage 4 cancer. He now has to undergo dialysis three times a week. Even so, he stays strong and never shows his sadness, even though he is no longer as strong as before. After a few months, he started experiencing continuous bleeding in his mouth. He even said, ‘Don’t go anywhere, I’m scared.’
“This is my Ultraman. In every situation, he stays strong to earn a living and always reminds his children, ‘when you succeed later, don’t forget your mother and father,’ which later became my source of strength to keep fighting for him. Please pray for him, as he is the only Ultraman I have.”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Amirul reflected on his father’s situation and shared a reminder for others:
“No matter what condition our father is in, or what job he does, we must remember that it is his hands that brought us into this world and guided us until today.
“Don’t wait until you are rich to make your parents happy, because by the time you are rich, they may no longer even have the same appetite for life as they do now.”
