A man known as Afest recently sparked widespread discussion on Threads after sharing an incident that took place outside Suria KLCC, one of Malaysia’s most popular tourist destinations.
According to his post, a woman, believed to be a foreign tourist, was seen allowing her young son to urinate in a public area directly in front of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers at the KLCC park. The incident reportedly occurred near a drainage grate facing the landmark, an area frequented by both local and international tourists for photographs and to enjoy the city’s skyline.

The pair are reportedly tourists from China
The viral photo accompanying the post appeared to show the woman holding her son, whose pants were lowered, as the child relieved himself at the drainage area. Afest claimed that the tourist was from China and criticised the behaviour, describing it as inappropriate and unacceptable in a public setting.
“You seriously let your child pee there? Typical mainlander!” Afest remarked in his post.
WORLD OF BUZZ has reached out to Afest for comment, but has yet to receive a response. The post, however, quickly gained traction online, drawing reactions from many social media users who debated public etiquette, cleanliness, and responsible parenting while travelling abroad.
Baffled Malaysians weigh in
The incident quickly went viral online. Many internet users pointed out that public restroom facilities are readily accessible in the shopping mall, which is only a short distance from the incident site. Other social media users were also baffled by what happened, with many saying such behaviour would’ve resulted in a fine in other countries.

“Shout at them. Don’t let it slide. This is why they do as they please.”

Another social media user claimed to have witnessed a similar incident at the Titiwangsa Park, saying the parents instructed their child to urinate into the lake.
What do you think of the incident?
