One thing Malaysians have a tendency of doing is taking matters into their own hands instead of allowing the authorities to do their jobs. This involves beating up wrongdoers during their detention by the general public at the scene of a crime while waiting for the police to arrive.

But, have Malaysians gone too far this time?

Mohd Redzuan Abdul Manap took to his Twitter account to showcase how a group of Malaysians had beaten a man to death after he was involved in a hit and run incident in Kajang. The members of the public apparently chased him down from the scene of the hit and run until he crashed into the fence of a housing area where he was beaten up.

He wrote, “In regards of a case of suspected rioting causing death as a result of a road accident. The driver of a car is believed to have been beaten to death. Before the incident, the 42-year-old victim had crashed into the fence of a housing area in Kajang last night (February 20).”

Prior to the victim crashing into the fence, he was chased down by the general public for allegedly fleeing after colliding with a food delivery rider.

“5 men aged 22 to 52 were detained for investigations. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code by OCPD Kajang. The victim is said to have fled after hitting a food delivery rider and was chased by members of the public to the Taman Pelangi Semenyih 2 housing area,” he added.

In the video showcased, the deceased could be seen lying on the ground near his car following the incident

Based on a report by Harian Metro, he was apparently pulled out of his car, made to lie down on the ground, tied up and beaten to death. Meanwhile, the condition of the food delivery rider is unknown, though we genuinely hope he is okay.

You can check out the video of the aftermath here.

Do you think that the group who beat up the man went too far? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
