When it comes to driving on the road, accidents are often inevitable as there are plenty of sudden obstacles that may prop up.

Recently, an accident in Cyberjaya went viral after the car had gone way off the path and almost ended up in a lake.

In a TikTok video posted by Richard Ker, he traced the car’s accident path showcasing that it had gone of the road and onto the sidewalk, hit a number of trees and hedges and even mowing down a fence before ending up in a park right next to a lake.

Richard told us that the accident started in Cyberjaya and ended in Putrajaya with the fence being the border between two cities. The car had apparently continued driving for around 50m before stopping right before the lake.

What actually happened?

According to Harian Metro, the driver had rented the car via Socar and was driving along before trying to avoid hitting a stray dog that tried to cross the road along Jalan Persiaran Tasik Cyberjaya around 5:00am on 17 March.

Deputy chief of Sepang’s Police department, Superintendent Md Noor Aehwan Mohammad said that the driver then lost control of the car and almost drove right into Tasik Putrajaya.

Fortunately, the driver did not suffer any injuries and has notified Socar about the accident. The car was then towed to the Sepang district police station and the driver was told to lodge a police report.

The accident left netizens confused

However, some netizens were unconvinced that the accident was due to a stray dog.

Some speculated that the driver could’ve either been drunk or high on drugs as the accident path would make no sense if they were really just swerving to avoid hitting a dog.
