After some 3 months hiatus, the 15th Parliament session is now back in session for the third meeting of its third session from 14 October to 12 December. Notably, this session saw the tabling of Budget 2025 on 18 October by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Accordingly, our Members of Parliament (MPs) are now hard at work to bring their constituents’ voices to the Dewan Rakyat and debate about national policies for the betterment of the country.

However, the exploits of Marang MP Tan Sri Haji Abdul Hadi Awang in Parliament yesterday (23 October) caught the attention of Malaysians when his official social media accounts posted a rather peculiar highlight video of him during the Dewan Rakyat session for the day.

This is because the highlight video didn’t show much of his time in the Dewan Rakyat, but mostly of him entering and exiting the Parliament building and shaking hands with other MPs and people in between.

In the replies and quote repost of the highlight video on X (formerly Twitter), many Malaysians were amused by the ‘highlight’ video, more so given that it was posted by the official social media account of Abdul Hadi, who is also PAS President.

In a viral quote repost by @SyedAkramin, which ‘ratioed’ Abdul Hadi’s post, he expressed amusement at the so-called ‘highlights’, asserting,

“What kind of highlight is this? Entering through the door and exiting through the door, and then it’s finished ?”

Meanwhile, another commenter joked that the video looked like a tutorial on how to enter and exit the Dewan Rakyat door.

Another jokester said that it reminded him of the popular GIF of Grampa Simpson going through a door and immediately exiting from The Simpsons animated series.

Besides that, one Malaysian asked where was the Dewan Rakyat session and the discussions during the session.
