In the message, the woman asked the public for help, saying that the private intimate videos were leaked after her husband sold the iPhone to a smartphone shop.

She further clarified that they had deleted everything on the iPhone and logged out of their Apple ID before selling the smartphone. Yet, the videos somehow still made their way online.

The woman asserted,

“Suddenly we found out that the videos we made for ourselves had leaked… What should we do next? Please help,”

Malaysians shared their 2 cents on the matter

In the comments, many Malaysians sympathised with the couple for what had transpired and advised people to take extra precautions when selling their smartphones to avoid things like this happening.

One commenter advised people to never sell their phones as data can always be retrieved in this digital world.

Another commenter echoed the same sentiment, saying that whatever you delete on your smartphones can still be recovered through specialised digital tools. In fact, these are the same tools used by cyber forensics, MCMC and the police to retrieve data.

Besides that, several commenters were perplexed as to why the couple made the ‘intimate’ videos in the first place, questioning whether this is something normal among married couples.

Another Malaysian went a step further by saying that as far as they know, it’s inappropriate for married couples to record such videos together.
