A social media post has been making waves online, in which a lecturer shared an incident that drew the attention of many netizens.

In a Threads post by @aisyahjumpaan, she shared a screenshot of a student’s assignment, claiming that the student had been using artificial intelligence (AI) to complete it.

“My dad’s name is Jumpaan”

According to Aisyah, the student uploaded their assignment without properly checking it, and the lecturer realised this after seeing her name had been directly translated into something else.

For context, the lecturer’s name is Siti Aisyah Binti Jumpaan. However, the screenshot shows that AI had translated it to “Site Aishyah B*tch Meeting.”

“Ah, it’s that time of year again when students upload their entire assignment to AI and don’t double-check. For context, my dad’s name is Jumpaan,” she wrote.

“I wonder how AI could come up with that autocorrect”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Aisyah said she initially found the situation funny but became confused after reading through the student’s work.

“At first, it was hilarious. But after going through the work, I was so confused, wondering how AI could come up with that autocorrect,” she said.

She also shared some advice for students who may be using AI for their assignments:

“This is a learning lesson for every student to be careful when using AI. It should be treated as a tool, and I do encourage its use because we need to keep up with technology.

“Use it wisely, ethically, and sincerely, for learning purposes only. And never use it in a lecturer’s name.”
