An anonymous sharing by a Malaysian woman has gone viral on social media recently, in which she confided her struggles with her husband’s strong body odour and his refusal to wear deodorants.
The anonymous message was shared with the @twtsecretsmy X account which posted it on the platform, garnering over 2,600 likes and 1,000 reposts as of the time of writing.
In the anonymous sharing, the woman said that her husband’s armpits have a really strong odour and she has brought it up to him many times, both indirectly and straight to the point.
Furthermore, she had also bought several types of deodorants for him to use but they all ended up just being ‘decoration’ on his side of the toilet.
She added,
“Every time I confront him about this, he’ll say, ‘eh, no, there’s no odour’. It’s smelly lah weh!!! Both his parents also don’t wear deodorants so he thinks it’s normal to have that rancid smell.”
“Because his parents also have the same body odour. But his male siblings all smell ok. I’m having headaches.”
The woman further revealed that her husband goes to work by motorcycle and the smell gets even worse when he gets back home from the office as the body odour is worsened by the smell of smoke from cars and cigarettes.
She’s also perplexed as to why there’s no one at the office reprimanding him for his body odour.
Besides that, she also shared how she almost broke down in tears because of his smelly armpits when they went to sleep without turning on the aircond, with the smell further worsened by her husband wearing sports jerseys to bed.
The woman ended the sharing by asserting,
“What should I do? Before we got married, he used deodorant but now after we’re married, he has stopped using it. I don’t understand lah ?”
In the replies to the X post, many Malaysians empathised with the woman and suggested several deodorant and antiperspirant products for the husband to use.
However, given that the husband is refusing to wear deodorants, many commenters suggested that she secretly put them on him when he’s sleeping.
Meanwhile, one commenter said that armpit hair is also the cause of body odour and suggested that he shave them weekly.
