Many of us don’t realize how lucky we are to have a meal and a roof above our heads. We need to remind ourselves daily that there are people out there with so much lesser. You come to realize that when you don’t have much, you only have small desires which may seem like a distant dream.

This is what Twitter user @ariffhm showed us a with a wishlist from kids belonging to an orphanage in Banting his wife’s company was doing a program with.

You can see in the list that the children are not asking for expensive or lavish things. Their list includes milk, chocolate, roti canai, chips and chicken rice. One 11-year-old girl even asked for a doll while another ten-year-old boy wants a water bottle.

There are so many things on this list that for us can be obtained in the snap of a finger. But for them? It’s a luxury to even have a glass of milk or some chocolates.

This heartbreaking list caught the attention of netizens and they chimed in with their comments expressing their sympathy.

Orphans1

“These may seem small and petty for us, but in their eyes, this is a huge gift.”

Orphans2 1

“These kids are quite grown and when orphans get older, no one really wants to adopt them. It’s so sad. Thanks for sharing. Hoping the best for them.”

Orphans3

“I teared up reading this wishlist. Yet, there are still some of us out there who don’t know how to appreciate what we have.”

If reading the wishlist of these kids touched your heart, why not reach out to them? The orphanage is located at Taman Cenderawasih, Banting and can be contacted through:

Address: Lot PT11537, Jalan Sepakat, Taman Cenderawasih, Olak Lempit, 42700, Banting, Selangor Darul Ehsan

Phone number: 010-2318581/017-3128581

If you wish to make a donation, you can bank-in your cash to these following accounts:

Maybank: 564687108450

Bank Islam: 12074010066444

These children should be a prime example of why you should be appreciative of what you have. We sincerely hope the kids get their wishes fulfilled and get more good things in life moving forward.
