Recently, a Syariah lawyer shared a case involving a chaotic family lineage where a father in his 40s went as far as to conceive a baby with his own child, who is in her 20s. Both parties were said to consent to the act as they liked each other.

What’s even more shocking was when the wife, who is also the biological mother of the daughter, found out and was willing to sacrifice her marriage so that her husband could get married to her child. Apparently, the mother’s ‘sacrifice’ was for the sake of the family linage. The father and mother got divorced and the man eventually got married to his daughter using the services of a marriage syndicate by foreigners.

However, the National Registration Department (JPN) did not approve the childbirth registration and informed them that it was necessary to consult the Syariah court to determine the lineage of the baby.

“The saddest question [asked by the daughter] is ‘Why can’t the birth of my child be registered with the name of my husband (her biological father) when we are married?” said the lawyer on her Facebook post.

The post received various reactions from netizens who were shocked by the story and questioned the parents who did not seem to care about the religious laws of the country.

“The world we live in is very worrying. Our perspective towards our own children should not be lustful…because parents are supposed to be educators of children. Instead, there is such a belief that incest marriage can give lineage to the child.”

“So who do we blame? Is it the fault of the biological father who failed to carry his family or the biological mother who failed to educate her children? Isn’t marriage the responsibility of both individuals?”

What do you guys think of this?
