An elderly woman was injured after a car crashed into a fast food restaurant in Sitiawan, Perak, at around 9:10pm on Thursday (May 8).
According to a report by BERNAMA, the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, shared that the 70-year-old woman had been trapped under the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) but was thankfully rescued by others at the scene.
“The operation commander assessed the situation and instructed personnel to assist the Health Ministry staff in providing first aid before handing over the victim for further action,”
“The situation was brought under control at 9:30pm and the operation ended at 9:49pm,” he said.
Videos are circulating
Multiple videos of the incident have since gone viral online, showcasing the MPV after it had crashed into the fast food restaurant.
One netizen, Aadhini Collection Shop, took to their TikTok page to showcase a man throwing punches at the driver of the MPV, and insisted that members of the public should never take matters into their own hands and allow the police to do their job.
She wrote, “It’s normal to be angry, but don’t throw hands. It’s the police’s job (to take action), let the police investigate and summon (the driver) for their mistake.”

According to a report by Kosmo, the elderly woman who was injured in this incident passed away last night (Thursday, May 8).
A family friend of the victim revealed that the elderly woman passed away while receiving treatment at the Seri Manjung Hospital (HSM) at about 11pm.
