Everyone in Malaysia is currently in a state of worry due to the impending Covid-19 outbreak. Yesterday, the Ministry of Health issued advice reminding Malaysians to postpone any large gatherings and avoid public places. This may seem like a hassle, but we have to remember that the way this virus is spreading, avoiding mass gatherings is probably the best move for now.

The Ministry of Education issued a statement today which said that all activities involving mass gatherings which include assemblies, sports events and even extracurricular activities need to be postponed.

“Members of KPM are reminded to abide to the Standard Operation of Proedures (SOP) regarding the Covid-19 infection control that KKM issued.”

In the statement, it was also stated that KPM members are advised to postpone any travelling plans, especially to places that are facing the outbreak. The postponing of these gatherings will be implemented until further notice. As a final notice, they reminded everyone to always maintain their hygiene and if you are to experience any symptoms, immediately contact the nearest District Health Office.

With the severity of the outbreak currently, kudos to the Education Ministry for their swift action! We hope netizens take this advice to heart and maintains their health and safety.
