After more than 60 years of independence, we’re so glad to know that Malaysia is on the right track to becoming one of the most awesome countries in Southeast Asia! In fact, there is one evidence of Malaysia’s development that really proves we’re moving forward, and it’s made possible by McDonald’s partnership with the Negeri Sembilan government.

The all-new McDonald’s Drive-thru restaurant in Tampin is the first ever outlet to be equipped with the Ronald McDonald Sensory Room – Yayasan Jaafar Ahmad, specifically for children with special needs!

Mcdtampin Ceremony
Dato ‘Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner of McDonald’s Malaysia, together with YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin bin Harun, Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, officiated the new McDonald’s Drive-thru restaurant in Tampin on 8 March.

This initiative is part of McDonald’s Malaysia’s efforts to contribute to Negeri Sembilan’s socio-economic development, which kicked off when they announced a new series of McDonald’s branches to be open across the state, during the opening of the McDonald’s Drive-thru Tampin branch.

That is awesome news for parents in Tampin! But, how does this sensory room help exactly? ?

Well, here’s why such a sensory room would be great for the special needs kids in Tampin, and why it’s a step forward in levelling up Negeri Sembilan’s status!

A special room for the senses

The Ronald McDonald’s Sensory Therapy Room is equipped with equipment to improve the cognitive skills and confidence of children with special needs and learning disabilities.

The Ronald McDonald Sensory Room – Yayasan Jaafar Ahmad is a unique facility specifically designed for children with special needs and learning disabilities, helping them to improve their cognitive skills and self-confidence. The sensory room is fitted with multi-sensory equipment, which stimulates their primary senses (sight, sound, touch and smell) in a relaxing yet fun atmosphere that they can be comfortable in.

Especially for families in the B40 group, the sensory room in the McDonald’s Tampin outlet will be of huge help to local families who don’t have the luxury to afford special education for their children.

Personally, we LOVE this initiative! And we’re so happy to know that the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Malaysia actually developed a total of 35 sensory therapy rooms throughout Malaysia, the country’s largest network of sensory therapy rooms, with more than RM4 million in sponsorship costs that has benefited over 7,000 special needs children, including those in East Malaysia.

For the betterment of Negeri Sembilan’s community and economy

McDonald’s Drive-thru restaurant in Tampin is the only McDonald’s branch equipped with the Ronald McDonald Sensory Therapy Room, co-sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities and Yayasan Jaafar Ahmad.

Ultimately, the opening of the McDonald’s Tampin outlet is part of McDonald’s Malaysia’s partnership with the government to contribute to the socio-economic development of Negeri Sembilan. Not only is the restaurant located at a strategic location to the Melaka-Negeri Sembilan state border (accessible for customers from various areas), but it will also introduce more job opportunities to the local community.

Fun fact: McDonald’s Tampin is the first McDonald’s restaurant in Malaysia to adopt a unique design similar to traditional Negeri Sembilan houses, thanks to its elongated roof. It used to be the Tampin Rest House before McDonald’s Malaysia took over.

Mcdtampin Zakat

Lastly, McDonald’s Malaysia also presented RM180,000 worth of corporate zakat payments to the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council (MAINs), which will be disbursed to asnaf beneficiaries and the needy in Negeri Sembilan.

If you or your loved ones have children who you think would benefit from the Ronald McDonald Sensory Therapy Room, the good news is that there’s plenty all over Malaysia! ☺️ Head over here to find out the locations of other Ronald McDonald Sensory Rooms and get them the help they deserve. ❤️
