The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has taken action against the illegal reservation of public parking bays within its jurisdiction, colloquially known as “chup parking.”

Taking to its official Facebook page on Thursday (18 December), the local authority shared several photos of its enforcement officers removing various objects used to chup parking around PJS 11, Bandar Sunway and Taman Puchong Prima, Puchong.

In the photos, enforcement officers are seen removing several objects placed in public parking spots of commercial areas in the two locations to obstruct others from using them. These included several tyres, a large plastic liquid container, a cooler box and even the base of a folding table.

“Monitoring and inspections conducted revealed various unauthorised obstructions placed in public parking bays. Consequently, immediate seizure actions were taken in accordance with the prevailing legal provisions,” MBSJ stated.

The city council added that all seized objects were disposed of at the MBSJ Waste Disposal Centre, consistent with established procedures and protocols.

Residents are encouraged to report similar parking obstructions through the council’s official website or via the Enforcement Department’s dedicated WhatsApp line at 019-2207823.
