The fashion style choices of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has always been in the spotlight with netizens ready to pounce on him for wearing eccentric and often expensive clothing.

He hasn’t seemed to learn cause just recently, he was spotted wearing another very expensive item of clothing which many Malaysians were unhappy about.

In pictures that have been circulating on social media, the PM was spotted wearing a plain white shirt with a Burberry logo on the side.

The shirt apparently costs RM2,390 on the official Burberry website and is named the ‘Slim Fit Horseferry Print Stretch Cotton Shirt’ and Ismail pairs it up with a blue tie.

“Is he the ambassador for Burberry?”

The pictures found its way online where netizens didn’t hold back expressing their distaste over the PM’s outfit choice.

“Serious question. Can’t the PM just wear a plain white shirt which has no brand logo visible on it? Like President Jokowi. He goes everywhere with a simple white shirt. No need to wear fancy clothing that the rakyat can try to find out the brand and the price,” said a user.

Another commented, “This kind of shirt is not for everyday use. It’s for casual outings. How will the PM understand the struggles of the rakyat? This one shirt is more than the salary of a local.

“This is a joke. Why would you wear this shirt with a tie?? You are the PM and not a rempit,” said a user.

Meanwhile, a couple of users pointed out that he seems to have an affiliation with the brand Burberry, as he was also previously spotted wearing another one of the brand’s items.

“Is he the ambassador of Burberry? Always see the product placement.”

Why does our PM always want to promote Burberry? Do other brands not suit him?” asked a netizen.
