Man Fails Social Experiment, Keeps RM50 Dropped in Front of Pregnant Wife & Children Instead of Returning It

TikTok user @firdausjaidil recently shared a video on his TikTok where he conducted a social experiment in which he “accidentally” dropped a RM50 note on the floor to see the public’s response.

In the video, Firdaus intentionally drops a RM50 note while pretending to walk into a shop at a mall in Kuching.

A man slipped the money into his pocket

Firdaus did several takes of the social experiment, recording different responses and actions from people passing by.

In one instance, a man walking with his children and pregnant wife spotted the RM50 note on the ground. Instead of returning it, he casually picked it up while looking around and slipped it into his pocket before walking away.

Another man noticed the RM50 on the ground

In another instance, Firdaus dropped another RM50 note on the ground, and a man wearing a cap immediately noticed it and picked it up.

He asked Firdaus if it was his, and when Firdaus confirmed, the man returned the money to him.

Impressed by the man’s honesty, Firdaus told him it was part of a social experiment and offered him a reward. But the man just smiled and kindly declined.

Netizens flooded the comment section with mixed reactions, sharing their thoughts.

“Teach yourself that no matter how hard things get, never take someone else’s belongings. The fear is that it won’t be blessed, and you’ll raise a generation that’s not good.”

“I once found a RM100 note at a different mall, and I thought maybe someone was doing content like this. I picked it up and waited for the owner to come back. After half an hour, the owner didn’t show up, so I left.”

“My approach is simple: if I see whose it is, I’ll return it. If I don’t know whose it is, I’ll use it to fill up my bike’s gas.”

“I’ve often seen this. It’s hard to find honest people.”

“Bro, your wife is pregnant, and your kids are still young.”

“If you find money and you don’t know whose it is, even if it’s only RM1, it’s better to put it in the mosque’s donation box or give it as charity to someone in need. Make the intention for the owner of the money. They’ll get the reward, and we’ll get the reward, too.”
