It’s no secret that ‘chupping’ parking spaces by standing in them is frowned upon in Malaysia. And, it’s only fair to assume that people in other countries don’t like it either.

So, as a Malaysian, why would you go to someone else’s country and ‘chup’ a parking space?

Netizen, Abby Hew, took to the Singapore Incidents Facebook group to showcase a girl who is believed to be Malaysian, standing in a parking spot in order to ‘chup’ it for her friend in Banda Street, Singapore.

She wrote, “A friend shared about a lady. ‘Chupping’ a parking lot. This incident happened at Banda Street at 1600 hours (2pm). She stood and blocked the car park lot while waiting for her friend’s car to come and park along here. Furthermore, quite a few number of cars were chased away.”

This incident is believed to have happened on Saturday (September 2).

Netizens have since taken to the post to share their opinions on the matter, and yeah, it’s not exactly positive

Many condemned the girl and her Malaysian roots, while others, compared her with sex workers.

Considering the fact that you’re in a foreign country, even though it’s somewhere close by like Singapore, it is always smart to be respectful of their laws and culture. This means no ‘chupping’ parking spots!
