We’re all aware that mixing languages while casually conversing with friends is one of the biggest parts about being Malaysian. However, you’d be surprised at how many people seem to disagree!

Gags Malaysia posted a screenshot of a tweet on their Facebook page, and it was hilariously relatable.

The post featured a Twitter user who shared that her mother was mad at her for not returning her friend’s tupperware.

Ha! Too real!

“So, wait! Why is this news?” we hear you ask!

Well, believe it or not, Malaysian netizens have been arguing over this post because of the Twitter user’s usage of English and Malay!

Yeah, we’re wondering the same thing too.

Why is this a thing people are arguing about? Isn’t it normal to campur our languages? After all, that’s part of what makes us Malaysian, right?

Well, it looks like many begged to differ!

Umm… what planet are these guys on? Why are they so offended by bahasa rojak? Talk about being petty!

Thankfully though, loads of other Malaysians fired back at the haters, making excellent points while doing so.

Some of them also decided to joke around about how petty everyone was being about the situation and decided to write a hilariously sarcastic comment.

The amount of angry reactions, though! Looks like not everyone got the joke!

Well, if you ask us what we think, Malaysians just aren’t the same if we only stick to one language. It’s just not in our nature, especially since we’ve grown up surrounded by so many wonderful diverse languages and cultures!

So please, lah. Don’t simply kutuk people for speaking in bahasa rojak. It is after all, our culture!
