Everyone’s doing their best to save a few extra sen when we eat outside food. Most of us frequent economy rice or ‘nasi campur’ stalls for lunch in efforts to save some Ringgit. Heck, some of us even bring our own containers to save cash and the environment!

Somehow, it seems like we can’t really get the best portions of side dishes and curries with our ordinary plastic containers, which is why this Malaysian’s life hack is so brilliant!

Yesterday, a local blogger, Arlina Banana (known as Arlina Avocado on Twitter), shared how she packs her economy rice using a ‘kuih raya‘ container to get good portions of her favourite dishes. She first shared the photo on her Instagram page as a “throwback” post to before she started her diet.

She then shared the photo on her Twitter, saying that she was amused that so many of her followers were in awe of the way she packed her economy rice.

Comments from more impressed Malaysians soon began flooding in, applauding her for her creativity.

If that wasn’t enough, she even posted an updated version of her photo, this time, with labels for those who kept asking her what dishes were in her container!

LOL!

We’re definitely trying out this hack the next time we get economy rice!
