One of the unsung heroes during the Movement Control Order (MCO) are definitely food delivery riders who brace through harsh weathers to deliver food right to our doorstep.

Because of these riders, we don’t have to go out of our house in search of food and we get to avoid being in crowded places. Some generous individuals in our society are taking the extra step to appreciate the hardworking food delivery riders.

Through a post in Penang Kini’s Facebook, a delivery rider anonymously thanked a generous customer who had ordered food but instead the food was intended for the rider.

The post dated on 4th May, shows the shock and surprise of a delivery rider when he got a note from the customer through the app stating that the delivery was instead it was for the rider.

“This is a gift for you and for your family. Or you can also choose to share with other grab drivers,” the note from customer said.

This kind gesture has touched the delivery rider and the rider took to Penang Kini to express his gratitude and happiness towards an individual whom he called Miss Penny. It looks like the generous customer had just made his day.

Whoever Miss Penny is, it’s clear that her act of kindness has left a deep impact both in the community and the delivery rider’s life. In tough times, acts of kindness like this go a long way.

Our nation’s battle with Covid-19 is not over yet. Let’s all continue to play our part by practising social distancing and always remind ourselves to wash our hands. Please take care and stay safe!
