Malaysian-based Singaporean actor Datuk Adi Putra has made a bold revelation, admitting that he is frequently targeted by certain individuals attempting to bribe him with millions of ringgit.
Adi Putra, whose real name is Mohamed Hadi Putera Halim, said the lucrative offers were not related to his acting career, but involved other matters that he declined to elaborate on further.

Bribe attempts on Adi multiple times
Speaking during the gala night of the film ‘Konspirasi’ at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, the 45-year-old actor revealed that some parties used lobbying and persuasion tactics for their own personal interests.
“RM10 million, RM20 million, those offers exist. Just like in the movie Konspirasi, money is sent from overseas in huge amounts. It doesn’t make sense nowadays for people to only offer RM100. I believe these things have become normal,” he said.
Adi, who is also known for his titular role in Mat Kilau, admitted that attempts to bribe him have happened repeatedly, describing it as something common in today’s environment. However, Adi stressed that he does not react impulsively, explaining that he evaluates every offer carefully before deciding whether to accept or reject it.
“Many people try to bribe me, but I also look at their perspective,” he told Harian Metro.
“Is the bribe meant to justify wrongdoing, or is it simply a gift? If it’s a genuine gift, that’s different. But if it’s bribery to make something wrong seem acceptable, I will never accept it.”

“Money is just a number”
Despite acknowledging the highly sensitive nature of the issue, Adi said he chooses to remain open and honest about reality rather than hide behind excuses.
He emphasised the importance of speaking out about ongoing real-world issues, citing that “many things are happening out there” and that he doesn’t want to twist narratives.
“Maybe I need to be more careful not to hurt others’ feelings, but on social media, there are many keyboard warriors who never think about other people’s feelings,” he said.
“I’m not easily blinded by wealth. Dignity and family legacy are far more valuable than money. To me, money is just a number.”
About the movie Konspirasi
