Luxury Car Crashes into Rider on SPE Highway, The Car Catches Fire as Driver Speeds Away to Flee The Scene

A luxury car was involved in a hit-and-run incident on the SPE Highway, where a motorcycle rider was hit by the car and left severely injured.

In a viral Instagram post by @bazly_baly, the man shared dashcam footage from another driver who managed to capture the incident, where the luxury car driver stopped for a short while after hitting the motorcycle rider before fleeing the scene.

The luxury car driver, however, had to stop before another toll on the SPE Highway after his engine caught on fire.

Bazly revealed that the victim – the motorcycle rider is his nephew, who was severely injured on his head following the hit and run. In his post, Bazly urged the public to come forward with information about the luxury car driver who ran away from the scene.

The driver is apprehended by PDRM & victim is in serious condition.

In a statement by PDRM’s traffic department in KL, police confirmed that the driver had been arrested yesterday (December 15).

The 34-year-old suspect was headed to Wangsa Maju after the hit-and-run incident, which happened on the same day around 12:35 PM.

“The driver had to stop at the Wangsa Maju Toll Plaza after his bonnet caught fire. The matter is being investigated under Section 42(1) APJ 1987.”

The victim, on the other hand, is reported to be in a serious condition. The doctor has administered medicines to the victim, but according to his sister, the victim is still unstable and has memory problems, reported Astro Awani.

In the meantime, the police urged all drivers to be careful on the road.
