In Ramadhan, Muslims around the world are expected to fast, resisting the urge to drink and eat during the day. However, some leniencies are given to pregnant women and those who are on their menstrual cycle.

An Indonesian man recently went viral for his “acts of love”, where he intentionally skipped fasting so that he could eat with his GF who couldn’t fast on that day. The man didn’t want his partner to eat alone.

“Thank you for skipping your fast just to eat with me. I was on my period, I couldn’t fast.”

“Love is indeed blind”

The video went viral and caught a lot of attention online. Malaysian preacher, Dai’ Wan responded to the lovebirds via an Instagram post and expressed his regret in seeing the video.

To him, the couple were lacking in knowledge and Dai’ Wan was heartbroken to see the man skipping his fast for unacceptable reasons.

“It’s Haram for a man to skip fasting on purpose. What a waste. There goes 1 valuable day in your Ramadhan, which cannot be replaced in any way. What nonsense is this?”

Dai’ Wan also said that love is indeed blind, especially when given and received in the wrong way.

“Don’t you think the love is meaninful when shared with the proper knowledge? Spark the love with knowledge, and be the candle that light up other people’s dark days.”

The preacher also said he felt ashamed to see the youth, who are lacking in knowledge and taking the matter lightly.

To our Muslim friends, it’s only about 10 days left before Ramadhan ends! How has your fasting been so far?
