“Let the MACC do their job, there is no protection for big shots” – PM on Menara Ilham Seizure

As most of us already know, former finance minister, Tun Daim’s building, Menara Ilham was recently seized by the MACC.

Commenting on the issue, our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says that the enforcement does not protect anyone, even big shots who are involved in corruption. So, he asked for the people to let MACC do their job.

“Let MACC carry out its duties, regardless of position and status…if not (selective investigation), there will be criticism of only catching the small fish and leaving influential people untouched.”

He added, “Let there be an investigation so that leaders are not seen as being protected by big power. The responsibility of MACC is to carry out its duties and investigate.”

At the same time, the PM had also urged Malaysians to not make any speculation that the government “has a certain ploy” whenever investigations on influential figures surface, reported BERNAMA.

“Do not assume that each time there is an investigation on an influential person means we (government) have an ulterior motive, if it involves ordinary people, then it is normal.”

Well, we hope that this tight enforcement will mean that there will be fewer corruption cases in the future.
