The love of our parents knows no bounds, even until they breathed their last. Most of the time, they spare no effort just to keep us safe and sound.

Recently, a Malaysian politician and member of the Dewan Rakyat shared a series of heartwarming images which showed the unconditional love of an uncle towards his nephew.

In his Facebook post, Alex said that he attended the KPDNHEP Enforcement Day at the Kajang Prison School yesterday morning (July 21) for the marching of the officers.

During the march, Nik Mohamad Adhar, who is an officer of the Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) collapsed as he was feeling under the weather.

His uncle, who was at the nearby guest’s tent immediately rushed toward him.

‘I thought he was going to drag Nik out of the field but I was wrong.’

Despite his old age, Nik’s uncle tried his best to hold him up and even stood behind him just to make sure that he wouldn’t collapse again. Nik’s uncle was also barefoot, with his feet on the hot searing ground.

His old body became Nik’s fortress under the scorching sun.

Alex revealed that many at the scene were touched by the unconditional love portrayed before their eyes.

‘Tears shed down the attendees’ cheeks, including me.’

At the end of his post, Alex urged everyone who still has parents to cherish their presence while they are still here with us.

Additionally, according to a report by Sinar Harian, Nik’s uncle, who is a taxi driver has been taking care of him ever since he was a child.

‘My mother passed away when I was only 3 months old. My dad breathed his last 7 years later,’ Nik revealed.

His uncle has been the closest thing to a father figure he has ever had.

This might make us wonder, how much real, quality time have we spent with our parents who are ageing every day? How much of their undying love have we repaid as we grow older?
