Picking out baby names is a lot of pressure to put on someone, especially knowing that the child will be stuck with that name for the rest of their lives. A KL recreational park, 99 WonderlandPark recognises that pressure and decided that they weren’t going to take any chances on their adorable new baby tapir.
99 WonderlandPark wants the perfect name for the latest addition to their wildlife family and they’re willing to pay a handsome price for it! That’s right, the recreational park is offering RM10,000 to anyone who comes up with the best name for this precious little tapir.
The “Name Our Baby Tapir” contest is being held to commemorate the baby tapir’s birth on 6 February. Contestants can submit their most creative names from 10 February to 4 March 2021 and stand a chance to win the grand cash prize.
“Winners of the contest will be announced on 27 April in conjunction with the celebration of World Tapir Day,” said Datuk Seri Jeff B.K. Lee, the owner of the park, in a statement recorded by Harian Metro.
He added that the baby tapir was born after the park’s management obtained permission from the Head Director of Perhilitan, Datuk Abdul Kadir Hashim to borrow and showcase a pair of tapirs named Mr Junior and Puan Peradong in their park last January.
“After being here for more than a year, Puan Peradong gave birth to a child, which everyone knows has yet to be named. We will leave it to Malaysians to name her. The name that is picked will be announced at the end of the contest and the winner will receive a prize cash award of RM10,000 as promised.”
