Kudos to those delivery riders that go out of their way for customer satisfaction!

Undoubtedly, our food delivery riders are also the nation’s frontliners. Ever since the first MCO and we were all confined indoors, they would supply us food at any time we want.

One happy customer from FoodPanda is Twitter user Saweetha (@saweethaneetha) who definitely got more than what she bargained for. After placing her order, she texted her rider for a few extra cutleries since her order was for two to three people. When her order arrived, she told her friend to pick it up as she was with a client. Her friend couldn’t control her laughter when she picked up her order.

While Saweetha just ordered a few extra cutleries, her rider gave her two big packets of forks and spoons! At first, she thought her rider was pulling a prank on her but she wondered if the rider actually went and bought her the extra cutleries as he was late delivering his order.

Curious about his intentions, Saweetha called the rider who checked the order when he first received it and said the restaurant never actually put the extra cutleries. The rider then bought the cutleries using his own money to honour the request and as compensation when he was slightly late.

“I was so touched. He could’ve just ignored the request and delivered the food but he didn’t. He didn’t even want any money in return.”

Saweetha extended her gratitude to not only her rider but all the food delivery riders out there who have been working throughout the pandemic. No matter rain or shine, they make sure that our meals reach us safely. She also requested Malaysians to be more patient when their order is a little late as our food delivery riders’ safety is most important.
