Going to the zoo is family-friendly and something few people have done because of how expensive it can get.

However, families can rejoice at the reduced cost if they choose to go to Zoo Negara today (27 January), as it is free entry for children below 12 and senior citizens above 60!

The free entry is in conjunction with Zoo Negara’s 60th anniversary, and with this, many people would be able to enjoy the zoo and join in the festivities, reported BERNAMA.

Zoo Negara deputy president Datuk Rosly @ Rahmat Ahmat Lana added:

“Children who visit will received an elephant-shaped fan and also Zoo Negara colouring books as a freebie.”

Other than that, the Zoo Negara website states that there will be no multi-animal show on January 27 from 9 am to 12:30 pm, and the Giant Panda Conservatory will be closed.

Rosly mentions that this celebration is held to celebrate the zoo’s 6 decades of commitment to wildlife conservation, education and public awareness of the environment.
