A group of supporters held a special prayer ceremony (Solat Hajat) for former Prime Minister Najib Razak last night (17 January).
The ceremony was organised as a spiritual and symbolic effort to pray to Allah SWT for justice for the former prime minister.
It was described as a manifestation of prayer, solidarity, and hope among supporters, particularly those from UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN),who continue to pray for strength, wellbeing, and justice in accordance with Islamic principles and the rule of law.

According to a statement from Team Najib Razak, the event also featured four speakers who delivered speeches and words of advice highlighting Najib’s contributions and role in the country’s political landscape, including his leadership in strengthening UMNO and BN while serving as head of the government.
The speakers were Mohd Shafiq Fhadly Mahmud, Yuktes Vijay, Zee How Tai, and Ustaz Mohd Shukri Samsudin, who acted as the imam for the prayer session.
Mohd Shafiq Fhadly said Najib should be given the appropriate space to reconnect with UMNO and BN’s leadership and grassroots, particularly in the face of current political challenges, including the upcoming Melaka and Johor state elections (PRN).
“Datuk Seri Najib is a strategic asset and the best ‘ingredient’ for the revival of UMNO and BN. His extensive experience, authoritative leadership, and influence have proven capable of uniting the party and restoring voters’ confidence.”

He also expressed hope that all ongoing legal processes involving Najib would be handled fairly and transparently, in accordance with the Federal Constitution, while taking into account the principles of justice, compassion, and wisdom in decision-making.
Despite their differing views, all four speakers agreed on one point: Najib has been seeking justice through legal channels, including representation and review applications, in line with the provisions of the law, as reported by Astro Awani.
Earlier, during the UMNO General Assembly, UMNO Youth had announced that a Solat Hajat would be held on Saturday.
