The grace period for vehicle owners with expired road taxes and licenses will officially come to an end on 30 September 2021.

In a statement shared on their Facebook page, the Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia (JPJ) will remind all vehicle owners to have their documents in check by the time the grace period is over.

They wrote, “Drivers and vehicle owners are reminded to renew their Motor Vehicle License (LKM) and Malaysian Driving License (LMM), including Vocational License (GDL/PSV) that has expired before 30 September 2021.”

LMM and LKM renewal transactions can be carried out online through the MySikap portal, or at any JPJ counters (on an appointment basis) or through JPJ’s strategic partners, Myeg and Pos Malaysia (starting 9 August 2021).

“Compliance monitoring and enforcement activities by JPJ enforcement agencies and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will be implemented from 1 October 2021,” they added.

Hence, to avoid any trouble, it’s best to ensure that you have all the necessary documents in order by the end of September.
