The university is China’s first to offer a Malay language program

In one of her videos, she takes us through her visit to a university in Beijing, China, where she follows Ghina, a former student there, to study with first-year juniors who’ve only been learning Malay for 3 months.

Ghina shared that this university is actually the very first in China to offer a Malay language program, which was established back in 1962.

“The class we’re about to attend is being taught by a teacher named Dr. Nadia. All the students in the class are first-year students, and they’ve only been learning Bahasa Melayu for the past 3 months.”

Dr. Nadia began the class by asking simple Malay questions

In the video, Dr. Nadia kicked off the class with a warm-up session, asking the students some simple Malay questions, which the students would have to respond to in Malay.

Dr. Nadia also shared how her students often read Malay books to warm up before class, and she’s amazed by their initiative and dedication to learning the language.
