A Johor Bahru child specialist is enraged after a mother appeared to seek the wrong kind of attention for her sick toddler.
The child specialist, PakarKanak2Adda, has taken to her TikTok page to bash the mother for using her sick child to seek attention on the same social media platform rather than seeking medical attention for him.
PakarKanak2Adda wrote, “I really condemn the actions of this mother who did a live recording of her child coughing and wheezing badly. I’m sorry, I do have to comment on this as it has to do with the life of a baby. Their mother or guardian should take them directly to a hospital for treatment.”
“If the child turns blue due to lack of oxygen and collapses during the TikTok live session, what would happen? Netizens don’t even know where this child lives, how can they help them? I’m really angered by the mentality of parents these days. They want to show everything on TikTok until they lose the sense of responsibility to save their child first.”
In a clip of the video shared by PakarKanak2Adda, the toddler could be seen coughing severely and gasping for air while crying.
The mother included a one-liner about not having family members to help take her child to seek medical attention.
“This mother should immediately send her child to a hospital as coughing like this could cause her child to die on the spot,”
“If you notice at the end (of the video) where the child is coughing, when they are trying to take deep breaths like that, it means that they are lacking oxygen because their pulmonary airway has become narrow and they are struggling to breathe,” PakarKanak2Adda added.
