We Malaysians, are lacking behind in many things nowadays especially on items such as public amenities, essential safety equipment and even maintenance of our facilities.

We have escalator issues that are not resolved even with changes in government, we have public property that is meant to ease people with disabilities that are misused by those who are abled and many more.

To show just how lacking we are in the latter, here is an example of what the Japanese are doing in their effort to make life a little bit easier for those who are on wheelchairs.

To help those with wheelchairs, staff at the train station will install ramps to help them not get stuck between the gap.

That’s what we call thinking ahead.

Let’s hope that this ramp service will inspire our own public transportation system to be more friendly to people with disability.

Now, FIX THAT ESCALATOR!
