When we were kids, going to school was boring as it was always the same food being sold every day.

However, it seems that students nowadays are lucky as recipes for other cuisines are so much more accessible and that makes the canteen operators sell various kinds of food.

The canteen of SJK(C) Yoke Chuan in Sekinchan has gone viral for the types of food that they offer their students.

The initial post was by a certain Miss Fu and it has been shared more than 2,000 times ever since it was uploaded on Facebook.

It shows the types of food offered in the canteen: onigiri, kimbap, rice bowls, noodles, chawanmushi, doughnuts, fruits and the usual fried stuff.

And the best part of this is that everything is from RM1-4 only! Brb, we’re going back to school for this!

In an interview with China Press, Miss Fu says that the school changed canteen operators after the pandemic and with this, many more students are looking forward to going to school.

“It’s my first time in the school canteen and I’m so happy with it. The children will discuss what they want to eat tomorrow and are excited to go to school.”

She added that her children are also happily sharing what they had eaten in school with her.

In addition to that, students can also pay with card but Miss Fu says that she doesn’t allow her kids to do so as she wants them to have a concept of money.

International schools have had this sort of cafeteria for a long time. National school canteen operators should follow suit while taking the children’s nutrition into account!
