A recent ghost sighting that had residents of Kampung Kuyung and Parit Kasa in Parit Buntar, Perak, on edge has been debunked as a prank.

The so-called pocong was revealed to be a young man trying to scare his friend as he passed through the area.

Viral pocong apologises to the public after pulling a prank in Perak

The ghostly figure was spotted by a TikTok user, Solo Ambush, who later shared a video showing the young man dressed in white, hiding behind some bushes near a road junction in Kampung Parit Kasa.

The prankster admitted he was just trying to scare his friend, but was soon reprimanded by the villagers.

After the incident, the pocong released a video online apologising for his actions.

“I want to apologise for dressing up as a pocong and to say sorry to all the villagers. I also apologise for causing a disturbance and pulling this prank.”

“I wasn’t behind the earlier pocong sightings”

The man later clarified that he wasn’t behind the earlier pocong sightings, as he had only started doing it recently.

“The reason I did it was that I deliberately wanted to prank the TikTok user, and I had no other intentions. I really just wanted to prank the TikTok user,” he said.

At the end of the video, he also promised not to pull such pranks or cause any more trouble for the villagers in the area.
