In the last couple of years, many people have shown off how they grow crops themselves.

Among the many tomatoes and artichokes, this is the first time that we’ve seen someone plant paddy and harvest the rice all at home.

Siti Aai Shah, a housewife in Senawang, Seremban, started documenting her journey of planting paddy in February 2024 on TikTok and Facebook.

She bought the seeds from Shopee and planted them in a hole-less pot. In about 70 days, the plants bore fruit, and after another 20 days, they began to go down due to their weight.

As of 110 days, the paddy is ready to be cut and harvested.

A video of the housewife cutting and husking the crops showed that she got about 3.4kg of rice from her garden!

It was also reported by BERNAMA that during one of Siti Aai Shah’s live sessions of TikTok, Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah actually reached out to ask for advice as Her Majesty wanted to replicate something similar.

As her current batch of rice has already been harvested, the housewife has said that she will be planting a second batch soon consisting of fragrant rice, sorghum, and wheat. She would also be documenting it on her social media accounts.

Wow, this is certainly a really great effort. We can’t wait to see what comes next!
