The young girl is believed to have been abused to death

Kuching District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Alexson Naga Chabu, confirmed that the report was received on Wednesday (8 October), with the complainant saying he was told by a friend that his daughter had passed away, according to Sinar Harian.

Following the information received, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kuching District Police Headquarters arrested the suspect in the Kampung Krian area, Jalan Padawan, at 11 AM yesterday (9 October).

“The complainant said he was informed by a friend that his daughter had died on Tuesday at around 9:45 PM. Early investigations suggest that the victim may have been abused to death,” he added.

The suspect had prior drug-related offences

Alexson added that the suspect has six previous records for drug-related offences, and initial urine tests showed he also tested positive for drugs.

He urged the public not to speculate or share unverified information that could interfere with the investigation.

“Anyone with information about the incident can contact the Kuching District Police HQ Control Centre at 082-24444 or Senior Criminal Investigation Officer ASP Chris Olsen Ramlee at 013-8607572 to help with the investigation,” he said.
