As some parts of the country are still hit with floods, the affected people are still in dire need of help.

During these tough times, the government is also helping the rakyat financially to ease the burdens off of their shoulders. However, the way the help is given may not sit well with some of the people, especially if it only elevates the burden of the rakyat.

Recently, a video posted on Goodymy revealed a huge number of people lining up to receive their parts of the flood aid has circulated on social media. In the video, a group of people are seen lining up in the rain to get into a building to get donations allegedly from the government.

“How could they have the heart to allow them line up in the rain? To the government, I know you’re trying to help but do you expect the people to queue in the heavy rain?” the woman in the video sighed.

Despite the rain, a huge crowd can also be seen outside the building a long queue formed behind them.  She also questioned why not just get a representative to obtain the flood aid for the people in the area.

According to the comment sections, a netizen revealed that the incident actually took place on Sunday (2 January) in Taman Seri Inderapura, Kuantan. The same netizen revealed that most of the people opted to get the flood aid personally instead of a representative.

Why not do it online?

The video has gained more than 100,000 views and more than 6,000 likes. Most of the netizens seem to be expressing their dissatisfaction with how the financial aids were distributed.

“Why not distribute the financial aid via online banking? What’s wrong with the organizer. Is he still living in ancient times?”

“It’s 2022. Everything can be done online, even postage.”

“This is cruel. How could they? Some people will surely be down with a fever after this.”

Representative? No thanks.

In the meantime, some of the netizens also revealed that the distrusts towards a representative is also among the causes of the long queue.

“No sis, we can’t give it to a representative. Money is the root of evil.”

“Sis, you gotta understand. Some of us don’t trust a representative, that’s why we went there personally.”

How do you think the situations could have been handled?
