Looking for a new job can be a difficult situation, especially if you hate having to endure interview after interview to find the right choice.

With that being said, what do you think could make this process even tougher?

A Malaysian took to the Malaysian Pay Gap Instagram page to ask for advice for their friend, who has been rejected from every interview she’s gone for apparently purely because her ex-boss had called up all of the interviewers to tell them not to hire her.

They wrote, “My friend recently interviewed with a few companies after her resignation but was rejected by all, she later found out from one of the interviewers that it was because her ex-boss called the interviewers to make sure she couldn’t pass the interviews. Where can we report this?”

Upon reading this, many shared their varying opinions on the matter.

Some believe that the boss was wrong for disallowing their ex-staff from moving onto other opportunities, while others are convinced that the ex-staff member must have left a really bad impression on her ex-boss, which led to the ex-boss’s actions.

So, what do you think? Should an ex-boss be allowed to destroy an ex-staff’s opportunities or should they live and let live?

Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
