The Railway Assets Corporation (RAC), which is a federal statutory body under the Ministry of Transport (MOT), recently shared an awareness video regarding prioritising the rights of differently-abled passengers while in train stations and on trains.
They took to their X page to showcase the video, which depicts a differently-abled man who had to stand in the train due to an able-bodied person sitting in a priority seat.

RAC wrote, “OKU facilities at train stations are reserved for those who really need them. Respect their accessible space for the comfort and safety of all.”

In the video, the differently-abled man ended up dropping the groceries he was holding, leading to another character helping to pick up the groceries and politely informing the able-bodied person sitting in the priority seat to move.
One aspect of the video irked Malaysians
While many appreciated the message behind the video, they also pointed out that the video, which was created using artificial intelligence (AI), could have been made using real, local, human talent.
This comes after popular Malaysian special effects creator, Sofyank, was invited to collaborate with Visit Singapore (SG), under the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), to create a video promoting the country.

“Sofyank has gone until Singapore as they’re willing to pay for beautiful work. Malaysia? Just using AI.”

“We have many talented people. Our actors are great. But they still want to use AI. It’s ridiculous. On top of that, it looks so animated.”

“Are Malaysians slaves to AI? Everything is being AI-fied.”

“‘Prioritise OKU consumers’ rights‘, meanwhile they’re not hiring actual OKU people to send the message.”

“Even the OKU symbold are wrong. Lazy work.”
WORLD OF BUZZ has reached out to RAC for comment, but has yet to hear back.
