An engaged 22-year-old man in Muar, Johor was arrested by the police for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl inside a car. Both the man and the victim met on a dating application.
The man, who works as a contractor in a local university is being remanded for 6 days by the Magistrate Court, and according to the police, the incident took place last year but that was not the only time the victim was raped.
She was also warned to keep the matter a secret
Muar district Chief Police, Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said in a statement that the sexual assault took place last year at Jalan Temenggung, where the suspect parked a car by the road and raped the victim.
“The victim did not tell anyone about the matter, including her parents.”
The victim was raped again 2 weeks ago before she lodged a police report about the matter.
The investigation is now being investigated under Section 367 of the Penal Code for rape. In the meantime, PDRM is also investigating the matter under Section 5 of the Sexual Acts Against Children 2017, and Section 506 of the Penal Code for threatening.
