The Senior Minister of Education, Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Jidin today announced that the wearing of face masks within school compounds is no longer mandatory and instead only optional. This is following the latest decision by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday (7 September 2022) which made the wearing of face masks only optional when indoors.

As reported by Bernama, Radzi made the announcement through a video on his official Facebook page. Despite the new regulation, the Senior Minister still encourages the use of face masks in schools, especially in crowded places.
