Many of us take Grab on a daily basis as it is oftentimes the quickest way to reach a location.

On 10 October, a differently-abled Malaysian by the name of Nara tweeted a beautiful interaction she had with a Grab driver.

In the tweet she wrote, “Today I took a Grab somewhere for late lunch with girlfriend. Already paid using my debit card. When he noticed that I’m a differently-abled customer, he returned my money in cash. May God bless you and your family uncle. So nice of him.”

Grab Driver Differently Abled Fare

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, she said that on October 10, at about 3pm, she took a Grab to get a late lunch.

She managed to get a driver and his name was Tan Kok Teong and he drives a silver Myvi. Once in the car, the driver made some casual conversations with Nara.

In one of those conversations, he talked about how he has to change his car soon as it is reaching the 10-year mark. If you did not know, Grab doesn’t allow cars that are older than 10 years to operate.

However, he explained that he wasn’t able to save up enough due to the pandemic.

Now, Nara had already paid for the fare using her debit card, however, when they reached her destination, the driver refused to accept Nara’s money and gave her the fare she paid in cash.

“To be honest, I was shocked! I know that there are a lot of amazing people out there but I did not expect the driver to actually return my money when it was already paid using another method,” she said.

“Of course, I’m really grateful. I felt the warmth for sure, it was so nice of him. May God bless him and his family.”

This is certainly a wonderful interaction. We hope that this kind driver will be able to change his car soon so that he will be able to brighten the days of more people!
