Justice has finally been served!

According to Berita Harian, 44-year-old Rozita Mohamad Ali, the now infamous Datin who brutally abused her former maid, finally attended court for a review of her sentence. This comes after she briefly went missing and failed to attend the court review last week (21st March).

After finally showing up at the Shah Alam High Court earlier today (29th March), Datin Rozita’s sentence has been reviewed and she was sentenced to 8 years jail time for causing grievous hurt to her former maid.

Earlier this month on 15th March, the nation was shocked and appalled after the 44-year-old surprisingly escaped jail time and instead just had to pay a good behaviour bond of RM20,000 for five years.

Considering the sheer brutality of the abuse, in which Datin Rozita reportedly used a mop handle, kitchen knife, clothes hanger, and umbrella to cause serious injuries to her maid, a large number of Malaysians were outraged that she did not receive any jail time.

In light of this shocking sentence, over 70,000 Malaysians signed a petition calling for justice to be served. Due to the public outrage surrounding the Datin’s sentence, the court scheduled a review of her sentence. She initially failed to show up for the review, and instead went back to her hometown and switched off her phone to receive medical treatment and “cool down“.

However, Datin Rozita finally faced the music earlier today (29th March) and has officially been sentenced to jail. She is set to start her jail sentence today.

Well, we’re glad that she finally received an appropriate sentence!
