A couple in a Perodua Axia was caught for Khalwat outside a mosque in KL recently. The video has since circulated online but the management of the mosque, as well as the family members of the car owner have urged for the video to be taken down.

The couple committed the Khalwat in a borrowed car.

In an official statement by the mosque, the management said the couple approached them, admitted their mistakes, and apologised for tarnishing the image of the sacred place.

Unfortunately, many people mistakenly blamed the car owner when he was not at fault. Here’s what happened, according to the car owner’s son.

“One of my siblings lent the car to his friend. He was told that his friend wanted to go to the clinic.”

The man highlighted that his sibling’s friends were the couple who committed Khalwat in the Axia.

“Not my sibling, certainly not my father.”

He also said that his family resides in Kuantan and his sibling is studying at a college in KL.

The person who recorded the video also approached the mosque management and met with the couple who committed Khalwat in the car. They also apologised to the family members.

“I understand that the person wanted to prevent immoral things but unfortunately, at the cost of defaming the car owner at the 1st place.”

He added that the family members also knew the friend who committed the Khalwat personally, and he assured the public that the friend was a good person. However, they decided NOT to share his pictures.

“Doing so will ruin his future. He could be someone successful in the future, we never know.”

For the defamation, he decided NOT to proceed with a police report as he believed his explanation had sufficed.

We hope the couple will not repeat the same mistake again, regardless of where they are.
