People these days are much more aware of the environment, especially when it involves fast fashion. Clothes that are not sold or taken off the rack usually end up in landfills which are harmful to the earth. YIKES!

Rather than contributing to fast fashion, many turn to thrift shopping for a more sustainable lifestyle. You never know what hidden gems you can find in a thrift store! Here is a list of places you can visit to avoid fast fashion:

(Friendly reminder: due to MCO, operating hours may change hence we try our best to source the accurate timing)

Family Bundle @ various locations

Fam Bundle

Family Bundle has a lot of hidden gems. There are a total of 15 locations available for you to visit! The one that is most frequented would be their Ampang Waterfront branch which is directly facing a highway. Most of their clothes are from overseas and if you dig deep enough you might find branded ones like Uniqlo and Levi’s. Visit their website at familybundlemalaysia.com to get the locations of all their branches!

MODO Japan Preloved @ SS15

Modo Japan

A hidden gem in SS15, MODO Japan Preloved is a small store that features preloved clothes of Japanese brands! They even sell luxury branded items such as Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior. Maybe you can try your luck here 😉 SS15 parking can be a hellish nightmare hence it’s suggested that you avoid peak hours or just opt to take the LRT instead.

Address: 12, Jalan SS 15/4b, SS 15, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor

Tel: 012-381 9666

Vintage Moonriver @ SS15

Vintage Moonriver

Another hidden gem in SS15, Vintage Moonriver features preloved items from Japan, the US, and Australia. The store is small but if you look around hard enough you might find some Levi Denims and Burberry trenchcoats for a good price!

Address: SG08, Subang Square Shopping Gallery, Jalan SS15/4G, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor.

Opening hours: 2pm to 6pm (Weekdays)

JBR Bundle @ various locations

Jbr Bundle

JBR Bundle is similar to Family Bundle. They carry clothes of various brands. JBR is located in nine areas including Klang. The store usually has a separate section for luxury branded items so people who are specifically looking for them can easily locate them in the store. You can visit their Instagram at @jbrbundle for more info!

Opening hours (PKP) : 9am – 8pm

Bargain Basement @ IOI Puchong

Bargain Basement

Bargain Basement is literally in the basement of a shopping mall. You can find more than just preloved clothes here. In fact, there are even books, accessories, and houseware up for grabs! What’s more, the profits made from the proceeds go directly to charitable organisations including Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia, Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cornerstone Selangor and Yayasan Seribu Harapan Malaysia.

Address: EB2-01 (Basement 2), IOI Mall, Puchong, Selangor.

Yellow Kombi Vintage

Yellowkombivintage 1

Yellow Kombi Vintage brings items from the 70s such as antique telephones, collectible toy cars, and Coke bottles! They also carry vintage items from brands such as Vans, Converse, and Nike. During events, you can usually see Yellow Kombi Vintage sporting a bright yellow van. Follow their facebook yellowkombivintage for updates on events and items!

Address: Lot 159, Campell Complex, Jalan Dang Wangi, KL 50100.

Operating hours: 12pm – 9pm, daily.

Now with the recent pandemic, a lot of these stores have shifted their business online as well. You can check out their social media to shop online instead!
