Some individuals are willing to spend substantial amounts to liven up festive celebrations, but such actions do not always sit well with members of the public.

A video showing a large-scale fireworks display in Kelantan recently went viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and criticism from netizens.

The footage, which has been shared on social media, shows continuous fireworks lighting up the night sky for several minutes. According to the individual who uploaded the video, the fireworks allegedly costs RM10,000.

“A waste of money.”

The extravagant display, however, sparked backlash from social media users, many of whom described the act as wasteful and insensitive.

“Is it true that Malaysians are having a hard time under PMX? Simply relaxing and burning firecrackers worth thousands.”

“Burning money just like that… and then complain about the price of fuel,” said another.

Some users also raised concerns over safety and legality, questioning whether permits were obtained and pointing out the potential danger of setting off high-intensity fireworks near big crowds.

Despite the criticism, a small number of netizens came to the man’s defence, arguing that he had the right to spend his own money as he saw fit while thanking him for the firework display.

As of now, no official statement has been issued by authorities regarding the fireworks display.
