Budget 2025: RM550 Mil Allocated to Promote Tourism Activities, RM600 Mil to Preserve KL City

Thorough preparations are being made in anticipation of Visit Malaysia Year 2026. During the tabling of Budget 2025 today (October 18), PMX said almost 550 million ringgit has been allocated to enhance tourism promotion and activities.

These activities include,

  • Preparations for Visit Malaysia Year 2026;
  • Organizing cultural activities, and tourism events, and improving flight access to Malaysia;
  • Empowering community economies through the arts, including promoting handicrafts and batik.

An amount of 110 million ringgit has been allocated to enhance tourist areas and establish ecotourism collaborations.

In the meantime, Khazanah has also allocated RM600 million to restore and enhance the value of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Carcosa Seri Negara.

This includes constructing an elevated bridge connecting the Perdana Botanical Garden with Carcosa Seri Negara to preserve Kuala Lumpur as the city of culture and creativity.
