Budget 2024: Govt to Provide Up to RM2,400 Rebate for Purchasing E-Motorcycles

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during his tabling of Budget 2024 in Parliament today announced that the government will be introducing several measures to further develop the electric vehicle (EV) industry.

The most noteworthy of which is to provide up to RM2,400 rebates to Malaysians earning under RM120,000 annually who purchase e-motorcycles.

This will be under a scheme to encourage the use of electric motorbikes.

Besides that, the government has also agreed to purchase 150 electric buses and build 3 bus depots at the cost of RM600 million.

Besides that, the government will also continue the tax exemption of up to RM2,500 to individuals for expenses on EV charging for 4 years and tax cuts for EV rentals for another 2 years.
