Let’s hope that this vaccination programme that will be organised by the BTS Army runs ‘smooth like butter’! 😛

Indonesia is one of the worst countries in the world, let alone in Southeast Asia to be hit by Covid-19 and has since ramped up its vaccination drive to mitigate the impact of the pandemic. A ‘whole-of-society’ approach has been implemented to ramp up vaccination in the country with many various communities volunteering to help the effort to reach herd immunity.

Recently, even the BTS Army, the name for fans of the South Korean K-pop group has joined in the efforts. As reported by CNN Indonesia, ‘Senyum Indonesia’, the BTS Army in Indonesia is currently organising a Covid-19 vaccination programme that would benefit over 10,000 people in the Republic!

The programme which started yesterday (31 July 2021) is held at Jakarta Convention Center and are free for all Indonesians aged 12 years and above, regardless of whether they are fans of BTS or not. Thousands of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine doses procured from the Indonesian government will be utilised for the programme.

Senyum Army spokesperson, Selly Wilson commented,

“Senyum Army fully supports the vaccination effort of the Indonesian government. We will help to make the vaccination drive be more accessible to all citizens so that all BTS Army alongside their families and friends can be protected during this pandemic.”

In order for Indonesian citizens to be vaccinated, they only have to bring in their national identification cards or family identification cards during the programme. For those aged 12 to 17, one family member must accompany them for vaccination.

Furthermore, at the venue of the vaccination programme, Senyum Army has also installed an art exhibition called ‘Stay Gold is for The Vaccinated’. Inspired by the BTS music video titled ‘Stay Gold’, those that are receiving the vaccine can enjoy the art exhibition while getting protected from the Covid-19 virus with the Sinovac vaccine. A full BTS concert video will also be played at the Jakarta Convention Center Hall for the viewing pleasures of all that is being vaccinated at the programme.
